AboutVictoria Hernandez is an artist working in photography and graphic design. Born in Mexico and raised in the United States, she lives in Emporia, Kansas. Her work explores identity and heritage as a first-generation Mexican-American. Her distinctive personal style radiates self-awareness as a Hispanic female in the United States. Hernandez works with digital and alternative photographic processes like DASS transfers, Vandyke, Cyanotype, Acrylic Lifts, Lumens, and experiments with different methods of altering prints, like hand embroidery. Hernandez was recently awarded Honorable Mention in the Salina Art Center’s Sunflower Biennial for her triptych from her series Children of Immigrants.
